Diferença entre Must e Have To

Must ou Have to

Ambos expressam obrigaçãoresponsabilidade ou necessidade.

Em geral, o Have to é mais frequente no inglês falado do que o Must.

Exemplo:
I must call Bob.

Geralmente usamos
Have To quando alguém que não seja o orador toma a decisão.
Exemplo:
I have to call Bob.

Forma Interrogativa

Para perguntas, é muito mais comum usar Have to. Must soa muito formal.
Exemplo:
When do you have to finish the report?
(Quando você precisa terminar o relatório?)

Normalmente, você não vai ouvir alguém dizer: "When must you finish the report?" pois não parece natural.

Tempos Verbais

Must é usado apenas no tempo presente. Usamos uma forma de have to para os outros tempos.

Para o passado usamos had to e para o futuro usamos will have to.
Exemplos:
I had to leave work early yesterday.
(Eu tive que sair cedo do trabalho ontem.)

I will have to leave work early tomorrow.

Exemplo:
I must leave work early tomorrow.
(Eu devo sair cedo do trabalho amanhã.)

Porém, a versão com will have to é muito mais comum.
