Special Days

Everywhere in the world people celebrate special dates.

In the USA and England, for example,some dates have a special meaning.

In the USA, Independence Day is celebrated on July 4th.

Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday of November. 

On this day families meet for a special dinner and give thanks to 

God for the past year.

On February 14th Americans and British celebrate Valentine's Day. 

People send "Valentines" to one another. 

"Valentines" are special cards with hearts, flowers and loving words.

On Mother's Day, people give flowers and gifts to their mothers.

Children always have fun at Halloween on October 31st.

They dress up as ghosts and witches, go from house to house and 

say "Trick or Treat".

Christmas is on December 25th. People give presents and send cards 

to friends and relatives.

Special dates are an important part of the tradition and culture of a country.

Como Usar o Present Perfect Continuous + Exercícios com Gabarito

O Present Perfect Continuous é também chamado de Present Perfect Progressive.

É formado com:

HAVE ou HAS + BEEN + Verbo + ING

Exemplo:

I have been waiting for two hours.

(Estou esperando há duas horas.)

O Present Perfect Continuous é um tempo verbal que tem relação com o PRESENTE. 

Se refere a um período de tempo não específico situado entre o passado e o presente. 

Quando se faz referência a algo que se iniciou, mas que talvez não tenha sido concluído naquele período de tempo. 

Estamos interessado tanto no processo quanto no resultado, e esse processo ainda poderá estar ocorrendo ou ter acabado de se encerrar.

USOS 

1) Para enfatizar a continuidade de uma ação que começou no passado e que se estende até o presente e/ou futuro.

Exemplos:

She has been waiting for you all day.

(Ela está te esperando o dia todo.) 

(= ela ainda continua te esperando).

I’ve been living in Rio since 2005. 

(Eu moro no Rio desde 2005.) 

(= e continuo morando.)

It’s been raining all morning. 

(Está chovendo a manhã toda.) 

(= e continua chovendo.)

2) Para falar sobre uma atividade que acabou recentemente ou que tenha acabado de acontecer.

Exemplo: 

I'm all sweaty because I’ve been exercising.

(Estou todo suado porque eu estava me exercitando.) 

(= acabei recentemente.)

3) Em perguntas com How long (Há quanto tempo):
